Bio

I've been a corporate governance professional for most of my working life. I'm a Chartered Secretary and have over 20 years’ experience in the profession, all of which has been with not-for-profit entities.

Currently I am Head of Governance and Group Company Secretary at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and have been in post since July 2019. Prior to RICS, I was Company Secretary at the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) where I worked from 2005 to 2019  and brought in extensive changes to the governance structure following a review.

Prior to working for the CII, I worked in the Secretariat department for London Underground which merged with the Secretariat department for Transport for London whilst I was in post and for the Cabinet Services department at the London Borough of Barnet.
I'm particularly interested in developments in corporate governance thinking and how this can impact on the success of UK not-for-profit entities.
